Frequently Asked Questions Videos Program for businesses.

Why is video so important to my business?

Why is video marketing so important to my business?

There are many reasons why video marketing is more important than ever for businesses, but I’ll highlight three of the biggest ones: 1. Consumers overwhelmingly prefer video, 2. Video builds trust, and 3. Google loves online videos!

First, let’s talk about consumers. The digital age has dramatically changed how consumers look for and absorb information, and successful businesses have adapted to that change. People want information fast, and video is the fastest and most effective way to deliver it. Studies show that online shoppers are twice as likely to buy after they watch a web video demonstration, and four times as many consumers would rather watch an online video about a product than read about it. Think about your own experience. You probably prefer to watch a video more than reading text on a page, too.

Video content also builds trust with viewers. When you provide interesting and useful information, people see you as a trusted expert in your field. It’s no secret, people buy from those they know, like and trust. Finally, Google favors sites with videos on them. Internet videos keep people on a website longer, and Google sees this as a trust signal. The longer visitors stay on your website, the better your search position in search results.

So, in short, your business has a much better chance to be successful when you give your prospects what they want most, videos, and in turn, they’re more likely to give you what you want most, their business.

Why are video testimonials so important?

Why are testimonial videos so important?

Business guru Bob Burg said, “All things being equal people will do business with, and refer business to, those people they know, like, and trust.” Without a doubt, the most powerful sales tool you have is a satisfied customer. When they write reviews for your company and compliment your products and services, those powerful words are working to build a reputation of trust for your business. One way to make those words even more powerful is by having your loyal customer say them in a testimonial video. This way, your prospect hears the excitement and positive emotions your customer has for your business. With each testimonial video you have, you gain more credibility in the eyes of your prospect. They’re getting to know you, they’re starting to like you, and they’re feeling like they can trust you. Chances are, they’re going to do business with you.

Remember, consumers depend on reviews when shopping, and they also love videos. Testimonial videos give them both at the same time.

How much does it cost to produce a video?

How much does it cost to produce a video?

This is a question we get asked very often. It’s understandable. You want to know what the cost of a video production will be before you make a commitment or to decide if you can make a commitment at all. We’ve done effective online videos for clients that had a $5,000 budget, and we’ve done equally effective web videos that had a $500 budget. Costs of an internet video production vary depending on such things as:

  • The amount of video footage needed
  • Where the footage will be shot
  • How much scripting is needed and who will write it
  • Talent
  • Special needs for the video, etc.

To give you an accurate cost, we first need to talk to you about the kind of video you want, your goal for that video and your budget. We then can create a proposal for you that helps you achieve your goal while staying within your budget.

We don’t have a large budget. Can you still help us?

We don’t have a very large budget. Can you still help us?

Absolutely we can. Many great corporate video productions have been produced on small budgets, and we’re happy to do the same for you. When you use our video production services, the first thing to do is tell us what your video’s purpose and message are, and then tell us your budget. We have many creative ways to help your video marketing by turning your vision into video. This can be through the use of photos, graphics and a narrator, for example, or by repurposing existing video footage or stock video. We could also break down your concept into its component ideas and produce smaller promo video segments over time. The key is delivering your message in a way that really connects with your target audience, and we won’t let your budget get in the way of accomplishing that.

Can we shoot our own video footage and have you edit it?

Can we shoot our own video footage and have you edit it?

If you have good footage for a promo video and want us to edit it for you, we’d be happy to do so. Before starting a corporate video production, though, it’s best to start by asking yourself these questions: Who is my target audience, and what video marketing message do I want to convey to them? You convey your message not just with the words you say, but also with the visuals you use, such as camera angles, backgrounds, movement and lighting. How a shot is composed can make a big difference in the message it conveys and how it’s perceived by the audience. This is very important for successful video marketing. Also, high quality audio is vitally important. Your message can be lost if it can’t be heard.

So, when considering shooting your own video footage, ask yourself this question: If I do my own videography, will the quality of the video reflect the same level of quality of goods and services my company provides? If the answer is no or probably not, it’s time to hire a professional video production services company.

If we have you produce a promotional video, can we update it later?

If we have you produce a promotional video for our company, can we update it later?

If you’re going to invest time, money and resources into having a promo video produced for your business, it’s understandable that you want it to be relevant and up-to-date for as long as possible. In business, things change all the time. Some people move on and others take their place. Some products become “new and improved” while others become obsolete. Policies and procedures change with time. Outdated information can hurt you, so changes like these can limit the lifespan of your corporate video production. That’s why it’s important to make sure the video production services company you choose keeps a complete digital archive of your project after it is completed. If they don’t keep it archived, all you are left with is the final product, and this is difficult (and often impossible) to update, and that can hurt your video marketing.

Digital archiving keeps all of the individual layers separate. If changes are needed, we can load up the project like it never left the system and quickly make changes while retaining the project’s full quality. A good analogy is changing a Word document.  If you want to make changes to a document and have the computer file, you can simply open Word, make your changes, and then print the new version. However, if you only have the original printed sheet and not the computer file, you can’t do this. Instead, you would have to either white out and type over the information you wanted to change or recreate the Word document from scratch. Neither of these latter two options are attractive nor cost-effective.

So before you start a corporate video production as part of your video marketing, ask yourself, “Is there anything in this video that may need to be updated at some point in the future?” If the answer is yes, make sure digital archiving is part of the plan.

Why should my company have a safety training video?

Why should my company have a safety training video?

Safety in the workplace is very important, obviously. Employees who are careless or don’t follow proper procedures put themselves, their coworkers, and their company at risk. Most industrial facilities give their employees a safety manual (rather than a safety video), and chances are it hasn’t seen the light of day since the mandatory safety class ended during their orientation. It’s not that the manual isn’t important; it’s just dry, dull and boring. People will not usually take the time to read a manual if they don’t have to. However, if your safety procedures are explained and demonstrated in a video, employees are not only more likely to watch it than read the manual, they’ll also absorb the information much more effectively. We have produced safety videos for companies, and they’ve told us the videos were well worth the investment. In fact, they virtually paid for themselves by saving the company money. How?

  1. Safety instructors can spend more time on the job and less time training employees.
  2. Many insurance companies offer reduced rates for companies with a formal safety training program
  3. Fewer accidents means greater productivity and increased profits.

To sum up, you’ll be doing your employees and your company a favor by using video for safety training. Everyone will be safer, and the company will reap the rewards. It’s a win-win. Now the question you should ask yourself is: Can we afford to NOT have a safety training video?

Why should I have my videotapes and film transferred to DVD?

Why should I have my video tapes and film transferred to DVD?

Film and videotape degrade over time. Their lifespan is affected by storage and exposure conditions, the quality of materials used to make them, and the number of times they’ve been used. Some last longer than others, but none last forever. That’s why it’s important to transfer you VHS to DVDs and your film to DVDs. DVDs preserve film and tape footage in digital form. If properly cared for, they can last for a hundred years or more. They can also be copied as many times as you like without losing any quality. This is especially helpful when you want to share your home movies with extended family. If you have cherished family memories recorded on film and videotapes, I highly recommend you have them transferred to DVD as soon as possible. At some point, they will be unwatchable, and those memories will be lost forever if they haven’t been transferred to DVD. We convert VHS to digital for a very reasonable price.

I have an old movie I bought on VHS. Can  you transfer that to DVD?

I have an old movie I bought on VHS years ago. Can you transfer that to DVD?

Commercial tapes you bought from a store that feature programs like movies, TV shows, or instructional programs are protected by copyright laws, and only the copyright holders can legally copy or transfer these videos. This protects their financial interest in the production and potential sales of it. Video production service companies like Morrison Video Productions cannot legally convert VHS to digital. The good news for you is that many older videos have been remastered to DVD, so buying a new copy would most likely cost less than transferring a tape anyway, and the quality of a digitally mastered DVD is far superior than any videotape.

What is a photo video montage?

What is a photo video montage?

A photo video montage is a video tribute we produce using your photos and adding motion, graphics, titles and music. It almost looks like the photographs come to life on the screen. People most often give photo video montages as gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, retirement, graduation, weddings, and memorials. When people are struggling to think of the perfect gift to give the person who has everything, a photo video montage is a great answer.
