Morrison Video Productions is proud to have worked with the Alamance County Health Department to produce this promotional video about their diabetes prevention program. Type 2 diabetes is a serious disease that affects many Americans. In fact, one in three Americans aren’t even aware that they have prediabetes. Fortunately, this new program provides classes and other resources to help people get control of their condition before it’s too late.

The National Diabetes Prevention Program is designed to help people make healthy changes in their lifestyle in order to reduce their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. According to the local website, this is what you can expect:

This is a 16-week program, followed by monthly support sessions to help you maintain your skills and changes. During the first 16 weeks, you will learn to:

  • Improve your diet without giving up all of your favorite foods
  • Add physical activity to your daily routine
  • Cope with stress and challenges without forgoing your hard work
  • Get back on track when you might stray from your goals

In the second half of the program, you will review key points on how to continue your new healthy habits, set goals, and remain motivated, while receiving continual support from the lifestyle coach and small group.
