One of the advantages of the video production business is that we get to work with a wide variety of businesses and subjects. Each promotional video project opens up a world of new information to us, and we usually learn a lot from it. That was certainly the case with “Field Guide to Mysterious Places”.
I had previously worked with the author, Sal Trento, on a separate and unrelated video production a few years ago in Burlington, NC. So when Sal contacted me a recently about a new project, I was eager to get on board. He told me that a while back he had written a series of books about very unusual and mysterious places across the United States and parts of Canada. The print versions of these books sold well, and he would soon be releasing updated digital versions of them for electronic readers such as the Kindle, iPad and Nook. Sal knew that a promotional video for his e-books would be a key factor in successfully marketing them, so he called on Morrison Video Productions.
“Field Guide to Mysterious Places” is just what the title implies. The three books guide you to and through some fascinating places in their respective regions (Eastern North America, The West, and The Pacific Coast). Many of these places are virtually unheard of outside of their region. They range from boulders with hieroglyphic-like inscriptions on them to vast underground tunnels. In addition to describing each place in fascinating detail, Sal also provides historical background to them, directions on how to get there, and helpful advice on what you should and shouldn’t do while there.
I highly recommend “Field Guide to Mysterious Places” to anyone who is interested in learning more about the intriguing world around us. Even if you don’t plan on visiting the locations in the books, you’ll still find them fascinating and very fun to read. For more information, visit the “Field Guide to Mysterious Places” home page.
